Lebanon urges UN to pressure Israel as to stop using Lebanese airspace in attacking Syrian territories

Lebanon has called on the United Nations to pressure the Israeli occupation entity to stop violating the Lebanese sovereignty and using the Lebanese airspace to attack the Syrian territories.

The remarks were made during an extraordinary meeting in the city of Ras Al-Naqoura that brought together Commander of the UN Interim Forces In Lebanon (UNIFIL), head of UNIFIL’s mission and some Lebanese army officers, according to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA).

The agency quoted the Lebanese Army Command as saying that the Lebanese side stressed that the Israeli occupation should withdraw from all the Lebanese territories.

The Command added that the Lebanese side also condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanon, holding the Israeli enemy responsible for the repercussions of these aggressive acts. It also called on the United Nations to put pressure on Israel to stop its aggressive practices against Lebanon, particularly using the Lebanese airspace in targeting the Syrian territories.

The Lebanese side also confirmed its commitment to international resolutions, particularly Resolutions No. 1701, the command pointed out.

Early last Wednesday, the Israeli enemy launched two missile attacks on Syrian territories targeting some points in the vicinity of Damascus. One of the  attacks was conducted from the Lebanese airspace while the other was carried out from the occupied Syrian Golan.

A Syrian soldier was martyred and five others were wounded in this Israeli aggression.
