BEIRUT, (ST)- Lebanon’s Prime Minister-designate Mustapha Adib on Saturday apologized, stating that he would be unable to continue his mission of forming the new Lebanese government amid a political impasse in the country due to the absence of agreement among the different Lebanese political blocs.
Adib told reporters that he has apologized after it became clear that the kind of Cabinet he wished to form was “bound to fail”.
He wished good luck to whoever would be chosen for the task of forming a government that can confront the dangers facing Lebanon’s people and land.
President Michel Aoun of Lebanon designated Adib to form the new Lebanese government on August 31.
