Beirut – Lebanese President Michel Aoun received on Monday the delegate of President Bashar al-Assad, Minister of Presidential Affairs Mansour Azzam, with the attendance of Syria’s Ambassador in Lebanon Ali Abdul-Karim.

“I conveyed a message from President Bashar al-Assad to President Michel Aoun, congratulating him on behalf of President al-Assad and the Syrian people for his election as President of Lebanon, and wished him wellness and stability in the new era of Lebanon, which in turn will reflect on the stability of the region as a whole,” Azzam said in a press conference following the meeting.

Azzam added that “President Aoun assured to us the depth of the relations between the people in Syria and Lebanon and the depth of the fraternal relations between himself and President al-Assad,” SANA reported.

He pointed out that the main headline of the visit is the joint interest between the two countries, especially since they have a common enemy which is the Israeli enemy and the Takfiri terrorists, indicating that security and stability is the headline of the two countries’ bilateral relations.
