Lebanese “People’s Movement” condemns wesetrn coercive economic measures imposed on Syria

BEIRUT, (ST)- The Lebanese “People’s Movement” has condemned the western unilateral coercive measures imposed on the Syrian people, reaffirming its support for and solidarity with Syria against these unfair measures which have come amid the spread of coronavirus.

In a statement on Wednesday, the movement hailed the victories achieved by Syria in the face of the global war that has been waged against the country since 2011 using terrorist organizations. It pointed out that this war has been led and supervised by the United States in cooperation with Washington’s allies and agents, mainly Israel and the reactionary Arab regimes in the region.

The movement reiterated that Syria’s victories have been achieved thanks to the steadfastness of the Syrian people, the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab army and the support of Syria’s friendly countries and resistance forces.

The Lebanese political movement indicated that the US pressure being practiced on Lebanon to force it be involved in implementing the coercive economic measures on Syria aims at leading Lebanon towards further financial and economic collapse, destabilizing the country and creating bloody sedition in the region.
