On October 20th, the Lebanese Parliament failed again to elect a President of the Republic after no candidate could obtain two-thirds of the votes of the Members of Parliament.
The National News Agency stated that 110 Members of Parliament out of 128 participated in the voting session to elect a new president of the republic.
After the votes were counted, none of the candidates got two-thirds of the votes, while 55 Members of Parliament voted with a white paper.
Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri set a new date for the presidential election session on October 24.
