The Lebanese parliament failed again today to elect a new president for the republic.
The Lebanese National News Agency stated that none of the candidates received two-thirds of the votes of the 128 members of the House of Representatives during today’s session. Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri set December 8 as the date for the next session to elect the president.
This is the eighth session held to elect a new president for Lebanon without reaching any results.
