BEIRUT, (ST)_The Lebanese Parliament approved on Thursday a state of emergency in the capital, Beirut, in its first session since the tragic explosion last week, according to the Lebanese News Agency (NNA).
The agency reported that the state of emergency was approved during the session held at the UNESCO palace under the chairmanship of House Speaker, Nabih Berri.
It quoted Berri as saying that Lebanon suffers today from s fundamental crisis.
A road map of six points to counter corruption and to make reforms was proposed by Beri.
On the other hand, the Parliament accepted the resignations that had been submitted by 8 members of parliament.
