Lebanese MPs: Syria has been Lebanon’s main supporter

The Lebanese Baalbek-Hermel parliamentary bloc has stressed that Syria has been the main supporter of Lebanon and the Lebanese people in the confrontation of pressure and blockade.

In a statement on Saturday, the bloc thanked Syria for supporting the Lebanese people and helping them get out of the sever crisis caused by the US blockade, calling for adopting Syria, Russia, China, Iran and Iraq as economic partners to help save Lebanon from its crises

“What is needed at this stage is to break the US siege by extracting oil and gas from the Lebanese territorial waters,” the bloc said, noting Washington’s attempt to confiscate Lebanon’s right to benefit from its oil and gas on maritime borders, by keeping its bias towards the Zionist entity and by supporting this entity’s historical ambitions in the region.
