Lebanese MP Ali Khalil stresses the importance of President Al-Assad’s speech to the Arab Summit

Yesterday Lebanese MP Ali Hassan Khalil, head of the Lebanese-Syrian Parliamentary Brotherhood and Friendship Committee, stressed the importance of President Bashar al-Assad’s speech before the Arab Summit held in Jeddah.

Khalil said in a statement: “We do not exaggerate if we say that in five minutes you pointed out the problems that the region and Arabism have been experiencing for more than five decades.”

Khalil added: “Syria under the leadership of President al-Assad has only uttered the words of truth, and has only worked to unite the Arabs on a common word, as it has always been, and has proven once again that it is the measure of belonging to Arabism and its beating heart.”

Khalil said: “If there is a historical opportunity to rearrange the affairs of the region through understandings and to arrange the affairs of the Arab arena through reconciliation, then this opportunity has been made available thanks to your policy that is based on honesty, vision and steadfastness, and this is what the Arab peoples need before anything else.”
