Lebanese Minister of Interior: Terrorist cells prepare for criminal acts in Lebanon

Beirut (ST): The Minister of Interior and Municipalities in the Lebanese caretaker government, Brigadier Mohamed Fahmi, has warned against terrorist cells’ preparation for  carrying out criminal acts in Lebanon to undermine the security therein.

During a televised interview, Fahmi said that some cells associated with terrorism are preparing for an act that violates Lebanese security, and these cells have previously tried to enter northern Lebanon, stressing that the security forces and the Lebanese army are the basis for the state-building process.

He added that some groups took advantage of the protests to enter the Serail in Tripoli and loot it, indicating that the time is not appropriate to reveal the results of the investigations into the incident.
