Lebanese Foreign Minister: We affirm Lebanon’s readiness to cooperate with Syria

Lebanese Foreign Minister Joseph Raji stated:

● We affirm the Lebanese state’s readiness to cooperate with the Syrian Arab Republic to facilitate the return of displaced persons to their homeland, as the conditions in Syria have become suitable for their return and the reasons for their displacement have been removed.

● We are working on demarcating the borders between our two countries, and an agreement has been reached to form Lebanese legal and technical committees.

● Syria is working on resolving this issue, which will enable the Lebanese state to control its borders and enhance its sovereignty over them, as well as prevent all forms of smuggling.

● We must work together to address all the other pending issues that have persisted for decades, most notably the issue of the missing persons in the prisons of the former regime.
