Lebanese Foreign Minister: My visit to Syria is positive and constructive

Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rjji tweeted after his visit to Syria: “We met with President Ahmad Al-Sharaa, and the discussions were positive and constructive.”

He pointed out that “The talks addressed outstanding issues between the two countries, most notably border demarcation and control, Lebanese missing persons as well as Syrian detainees in Lebanese prisons.”
” Discussions also dealt with the issue of displaced Syrians, the fate of the Lebanese-Syrian Higher Council, and the review of treaties between the two countries.” The Lebanese minister added.
He stressed “The visit represents a first step toward opening a new page in bilateral relations, based on transparency and shared interests.”
