BEIRUT,(ST)_ “Syria has been exposed to a terrorist onslaught aiming at undermining its resistance approach against the Israeli-Western project in the region,” said chairman of the Lebanese democratic council Talal Arsalan on Thursday.
He added that the Syrians who enjoy a high sense of nationalism have foiled all declared schemes to destroy Syria and undermine its key role in the Middle east and the world.
In an Interview with the Syrian TV, Arsalan noted that the Arab position towards Syria is embodied in funding the armed terrorist groups as to undermine Syria ‘s national unity and demolishing the Syrian culture which has been developed on nationalism for decades.
Arsalan stressed that the future will be on the side of resistance approach in the region.
He indicated that some Lebanese like Saad Hariri , Oqab Saqr and others insisted to get themselves involved in the terrorist conspiracy against Syria and used the policy of so-called self- distancing as a slogan for that .
He warned against danger of such an intervention because “what protects Syria protects Lebanon and chaos and instability in Syria will be reflected upon Lebanon.”
For his part, the Ambassador of the International Human Rights Organization in Lebanon and the Middle East, Dr. Haitham Abu Saeed stressed what Syria has been exposed is but terrorism under the guise of demanding reforms. He stressed that there are armed groups fighting the Syrian Arab army, which is, according to International norms , the internationally recognized army.
The Abu Saeed added that there is no law which justifies the terrorist bombings taking place in Syria, rather there is a law that condemns these armed groups, whose members should be held accountable at international courts, over the crimes committed against innocent civilians in Syria.
“We have documented information indicating the existence of children in the ranks of armed groups in Syria,” he said , pointing out that the reason for the silence of the international community over that is because certain international sides work only for political interests.” He added.
