Lebanese Amal Movement condemns Turkey’s stealing of Syria’s share of the Euphrates water

The Political Bureau of the Lebanese Amal Movement has condemned the Turkish regime’s crime of stealing Syria and Iraq’s share of the Euphrates water and its policy of thirsting and depriving the two countries from their legal shares in the waters of the Euphrates and Tigris rivers.

In a statement on Monday, the movement said that the Turkish regime is working to cut off the flow of water from the Euphrates to the Syrian and Iraqi peoples through adopting dam-building policies that don’t take the interests of the downstream countries into consideration. The movement warned that this issue will lead to the eruption of water wars in the region, noting the water crisis in Egypt and Sudan.

The movement also called for escalating resistance against the Israeli enemy in the occupied Palestinian territories, pointing out that betting on a settlement with the Zionist entity has gone with the wind, given the continuous arrogance and intransigence of this entity.
