On March 3, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said that the Turkish regime using of immigrants issue as a mean to put pressure and blackmail Europe is totally unacceptable.
“ The threat of Turkey to allow the passage of millions of migrants to Europe if Turkey does not receive aid from the European Union is unacceptable,” Le Drian said to the French National Assembly.
He called on the Turkish regime to respect the agreement signed with the European Union countries in March 2016.
In turn, the President of the European Council Charles Michel called on the Turkish regime to respect the signed agreement with the European Union in 2016. The agreement urges Ankara to halt the influx of immigrants to Europe in exchange for aid worth billions of euros.
Michel said: “It is necessary for Europe to protect its borders.”
