On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, official and popular personalities visited a number of martyrs’ graves in the governorates, laid wreaths of flowers on their shrines, and recited Al-Fatiha for their pure souls.
At the martyrs’ cemetery in Tartous, Governor of Tartous, Abdul Halim Awad Khalil, Secretary of the branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Muhammad Hussein, Police chief, Brigadier General Wafiq Abu Dallah, and Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa, laid a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
Tartous Governorate Council, in cooperation with one of the economic parties in Aleppo Governorate, honored 150 families of martyrs in Tartous Governorate.
Alia Mahmoud, Chairman of the Council, emphasized in her speech the great status of martyrdom and martyrs, highlighting the social solidarity which reflects the state of familiarity and love among the members of society.
In the province of Damascus Countryside, the governor, Safwan Abu Saada, visited the martyrs’ cemetery in Najha area and laid a wreath at the memorial of the Unknown Soldier.
During the visit, Abu Saada stressed that the sacrifices of the martyrs contributed to protecting Syria, strengthening its steadfastness and preserving its lands, and made it an impenetrable fortress in the face of every aggressor.
In turn, Secretary of the Damascus Countryside Branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, Radwan Mustafa, noted that thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs, Syria has won. So whatever we give to their families, we will remain unable to fulfill their right, because martyrdom is the supreme value.
The Governorate of Damascus Countryside honored a number of families of the martyrs and the wounded in the town of Babila and the surrounding areas during a ceremony it held in the town to celebrate the Martyrs’ Day.
Governor of Homs, Eng. Namir Makhlouf, Secretary of the Homs branch of the Baath Party, Omar Houria, and Commander of the Central Region, Major General Loay Alia, also visited the Kindergarten of Al-Firdoas Martyrs in the Armenian neighborhood of the city, and laid a wreath of flowers on the memorial of the martyrs.
The governor and branch secretary visited a number of army wounded in the hospital of the martyr Abdul Qadir Shaqfa in Al-Waer neighborhood, and a number of families of the martyrs in Homs, in appreciation of the sacrifices of their sons for the sake of the honor and dignity of the homeland.
During his meeting with the wounded and the families of the martyrs, the governor indicated the continuation of the efforts of the governorate and the various service agencies and institutions to help and support their children in appreciation of their sacrifices for the sake of the country.
The police command in Al-Hasakah governorate held a celebration on the occasion of Martyrs’ Day at the headquarters of the Security and Order Preservation Unit, during which it honored a number of the families of the martyrs and the wounded.
Hama Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Syria Trust for Development, honored 530 families of martyrs, including police officers and members of the Internal Security Forces, from various regions of the governorate.
In a statement to SANA reporter, Turki Muhammad Al-Saeed, Hama Police Commander, stated that on this great occasion, we remember the sacrifices and heroism of the officers and members of the Internal Security Forces who sacrificed their lives alongside the heroes of the Syrian Arab Army in defending Syria against armed terrorist groups, and establishing security and stability in the various regions of the province.
AL-Suwayda Governorate also honored about 70 families of the martyrs of the Syrian Arab Army and the auxiliary forces in a ceremony at the Culture Palace in the city.
Governor of AL-Suwayda, Eng. Bassam Parsik, said in a speech during the ceremony: We stand today in honor and reverence for the martyrs and the wounded of the homeland , recalling the greatness of their sacrifices and heroism.
The Governor of AL-Suwayda and the Secretary of the Baath Party branch visited the martyrs’ memorial in the town of Al-Mazra’a, where a wreath of flowers was placed on it, and Al-Fatihah was recited on the souls of the nation’s martyrs, and their heroism and sacrifices were remembered.
Official, party and military delegations also visited the cemetery of Rawdat al-Shuhada in Basnada in Lattakia, laid wreaths on the tombs of the martyrs, and recited al-Fatihah for their pure souls.
In Daraa, a number of federations and sub-organizations in the province visited the martyrs’ cemetery in the city of al-Sanamayn in the northern countryside of Daraa, and laid wreaths on their tombs, and recited al-Fatihah on their souls that they sacrificed for the sake of the homeland.
The families of the martyrs and the wounded affirmed their pride in the martyrdom of their sons for the sake of Syria, pointing out that their sacrifices were not in vain, as they played a pivotal role in the victory of Syria.
A number of the wounded and the families of the martyrs said that they would continue to give and be loyal to the homeland and the leader of the homeland, expressing their hope that security and safety will prevail throughout Syria.
