Laying the foundation stone for two tourism projects in Damascus that provide many job opportunities
Damascus (ST): Prime Minister Eng. Hussein Arnous laid the foundation stone for the Nirvana Tourist Complex in the Hejaz region. He also laid the foundation stone for the Victoria Hotel project in the Traffic Reservation Garage in Damascus, with an estimated cost of the two projects amounting to 195 billion Syrian pounds.
(Al-Hejaz Limited Liability Company) is investing in the Nirvana Project, which is a tourist and commercial facility, with an estimated cost of 105 billion Syrian pounds. months, and an investment period of 45 years, with a number of beds of up to 300 beds, in addition to 1250 feeding chairs and lounges, and provides about 350 job opportunities.
According to the investment contract signed between the Hijaz Railway Corporation and the Hijaz Investment Company, the Hijaz Railway Corporation provides the land, and the rest is the responsibility of the investing company in terms of studies, construction, implementation and equipment.
The investment cost of the Victoria Hotel project, whose land is owned by the governorate, is estimated at about 90 billion Syrian pounds, and it is implemented by Wahoud Group on an area of 2436 square meters, with a floor area of 21 thousand square meters, and the number of beds is 400 beds, and the number of dining chairs and lounges is 1000 chair, and commercial activities occupy no more than 30% of the floor area, in addition to providing about 300 job opportunities.
In a statement to reporters, the Prime Minister confirmed that laying the foundation stone for the Nirvana Tourist Complex and Victoria Hotel projects coincides with the Tourism Investment Forum, noting that the investors of the two projects are Syrian citizens who decided to stay in the country and contribute to the reconstruction process.
Eng. Arnous said: Investment in tourism projects constitutes a basic structure of the economy in addition to industry and agriculture, pointing to interest in all kinds of investment activities as a result of Syria’s historical and cultural richness, which makes it a destination for tourism.
