Laws Must Be Applied to All without Selectivity, Favoritism: President Al-Assad to Governors

DAMASCUS, (ST)- Laws should be respected and must be applied to all away from selectivity or favoritism, President Bashar Al-Assad stressed during his meeting on Thursday with governors of Syrian provinces.

The meeting was attended by Prime Minister Imad Khamis and the Local Administration Minister Hussein Makhlouf.

President Al-Assad said that applying the laws necessitates more filed visits by concerned officials to help uncover corrupt officials and workers, help fight bureaucracy and squandering and help enhance cooperation between the Local Administration Ministry and the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection to control prices in the service of citizens.

The president stressed the importance of  the participation of governors and local administration institutions in the country’s process of development , because they are more capable than others to draw up suitable development plans for each area, particularly regarding reconstruction. He affirmed the need to achieve justice between cities and countryside areas in both development and services projects.

President Al-Assad reiterated the need to accord special attention to martyrs families and the wounded army personnel whose sacrifices have preserved Syria.

“The Syrian state is pressing ahead with fighting terrorism and achieving reconciliation,” President Al-Assad said, urging local administration establishments to spare no effort to enhance reconciliations as to put an end to bloodshed and restore normal life countrywide.
