Law on Syria’s accession to International Renewable Energy Agency Approved

The People’s Assembly (PA), during a session chaired by PA Speaker Hamouda Sabbagh on Monday, approved a draft law providing for ratifying Syria’s accession to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA).

The PA members underlined the importance of the draft in enhancing the use of renewable energies and reducing gas emissions resulted from generating power from fossil fuels.

Electricity Minister, Ghassan Al-Zamil noted that IRENA provided the consultation and support to the member states in a way that contributed to improving regulatory frameworks and capacity-building in the domain of training in all specialties to enhance the wide and sustainable use of renewable energy.
