Lavrov: We have documents proving that Ukraine was preparing to use biological weapons

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stressed that the West is waging an all-out war against his country under the pretext of Ukraine, pointing out that Washington and its allies are violating the rules of international law to impose their dominance on the international scene.

During today’s speech to the International Digital Relations Conference in Moscow, Lavrov noted that the United States and the West have worked to turn Ukraine into an anti-Russian state. Their unconditional support for the regime in Kiev has become the culmination of their anti-Moscow political approach, which began with banning the Russian language, stopping Russian media, killing independent Russian journalists, flooding Ukraine with lethal weapons and preparing for a war on the Donbass region.

Lavrov indicated that Moscow has many documents proving that Ukraine was preparing to manufacture and use biological weapons, stressing that the Russian special military operation in Ukraine aims to protect the Donbass region and will inevitably achieve its goals.

Lavrov pointed out that the West’s hybrid war against Russia covers a variety of areas, including the information space, clarifying that the West uses media and websites to fake, distort and spread hatred against Russia. But in turn Russia is taking steps to strengthen the digital sovereignty of the government and the Russian state as a whole.

Lavrov pointed out that Russia is one of the leading countries in the digital sector, and that the current crisis opens up additional opportunities for development, just as in any other field. He asserted that his country is open to cooperation in all fields, including digital and cyber-security, and will always remain committed to combating cybercrime and working on creating a unified global system for controlling the information space.
