Lavrov, Wang Yi stress the impossibility of settling the crisis in Ukraine without taking into account Russia’s interests
Moscow, (ST) – Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi stressed that there are no prospects for attempts to settle the situation in Ukraine without taking into account Russia’s interests.
RT website quoted a Russian Foreign Ministry statement saying following the meeting of the Russian and Chinese ministers in Moscow: The two sides noted the current state of Russian-Chinese relations, which continue to develop dynamically in light of the unstable and tense foreign political situation.
The statement indicated that the two ministers discussed vital issues related to the bilateral agenda in the context of implementing the agreement between the leaders of the two countries, and issues of communications at high levels.
The preparation for Russia’s participation in the third high-level forum in Beijing on international cooperation, within the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative also is taken into consideration, the statement added.
The statement explained that the two sides confirmed the convergence of positions regarding the steps of the United States on the international scene, including those that have an anti-Russian and Chinese nature.
