Lavrov underscores the need to eliminate terrorism in Idleb

MOSCOW, (ST)_ Moscow, SANA- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has underscored the need to eliminate terrorism in Idleb.

In a press conference with South Sudan’s Foreign Affairs Minister in Moscow on Tuesday, Lavrov said that terrorist groups in Idleb continue their provocative acts and attacks on the nearby areas, the Syrian Arab Army’s positions and on Hmeimim airport.

The Russian official added that these provocative acts left hundreds of casualties and that they should not be allowed to continue.

He called on the Turkish side to honestly implement the understandings reached regarding the de-escalation zone in Idleb.

For more than 2 weeks, the terrorist groups have pressed ahead with targeting the humanitarian corridors in the countryside of Aleppo and Idleb to prevent the exit of civilians and have held them as human shields.

Lavrov also pointed out that a large number of terrorists were transported from Idleb to Libya in violation of International resolutions.

As for the deal of century, the Russian diplomat stressed that Washington has not consulted Moscow. “The Palestinians reject this deal because it undermines the establishment of the Palestinian state on the 1967 borders in accordance with UN resolutions.
