Lavrov to Al-Miqdad: Israeli attacks on Syria violate international law

DAMASCUS, April.28, (ST)- The Minister of Foreign Affaires and Expatriates Faisal Al-Miqdad  discussed on Thursday with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov bilateral relations between the two countries and international and regional developments related to the Russian special military operation in Ukraine.
 
Al-Miqdad stressed , during a telephone call with Lavrov, Syria’s support for the stance of the Russian Federation in the face of Western policies that depend on misinformation and double standards, adding that Syria had decided a long time ago to confront Western policies and their non-stop attempts to dominate the world and exploit it to serve their open goals and objectives.
 
For his part, Lavrov said that the Western policies aim at fabricating lies and crises, adding that Russia defends the principle of respecting the sovereignty of states, the Charter of the United Nations and the international law.
 
He in addition affirmed that the continuation of the Israeli attacks on sites in Syria, the latest of which was on targets in the vicinity of Damascus, violate the international law and they are unacceptable by Russia.
 
The two ministers also reviewed several topics related to enhancing bilateral relations between Syria and Russia at the political and economic levels, and the implementation of all agreements reached in the field of economic cooperation.
 
They agreed to continue consultation and coordination on various developments, according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA).
