Lavrov: The necessity of finding a political solution to the crisis in Syria in accordance with UN Resolution 2254

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated the need to find a political solution to the crisis in Syria in accordance with UN Resolution 2254.

Lavrov said during a press conference with his Bahraini counterpart Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al-Zayani in the Bahraini capital, Manama today: “We talked about the crisis in Syria and the need to find a political solution and implement Security Council Resolution 2254, and we expressed our hope for Syria’s return to the League of Arab States, and here we have a common position and we will continue to work in order to achieve that.”
On the other hand, Lavrov pointed out that problems related to global food security were discussed, explaining that the West bears its responsibility because of the sanctions it imposes on anyone who refuses to submit to its hegemony, thus, the West is closing its ports to Russian ships and cutting supply chains.
Lavrov indicated that Russia has done everything in its power to solve the food problem in the world and that it has been taking measures for the free export of Ukrainian grain for more than a month, stressing that if Kyiv solves the problem of mines in the ports, the Russian fleet will provide the movement of ships loaded with grain to the Mediterranean Sea without hindrances .
With regard to negotiations to revive the Iranian nuclear agreement, Lavrov pointed out that the United States is putting up obstacles and trying to introduce amendments to the agreement.
Lavrov indicated that the situation in the Middle East and North Africa was discussed and that there is a consensus on the situation in Palestine and the need to reach a settlement in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, pointing out that Russia will do everything in its power to help the Palestinian people.
