Lavrov: The European Union’s effort to restrict Moscow in Central Asia and the Caucasus will fail

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed that the European Union will not be able to influence Russia’s role in the Central Asia and Caucasus region.

Lavrov stressed that the Union will fail in its efforts in this regard.

“The European Union does not hide its intentions to restrict us in every possible way, and expel us from Central Asia and the Caucasus,” Sputnik quoted Lavrov as saying during a television interview:

Lavrov added: “Russia’s presence in the region is historic and we will not disappear. Our partners and allies know this very well.”
