Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov expressed his country’s desire to resolve the situation in Ukraine as soon as possible, pointing out that protecting civilians and preserving soldiers’ lives are a priority.
Russia Today quoted Lavrov as saying in an interview with the Big Game program: “Of course, the desire is to end this situation as soon as possible and to end this war that the West was preparing for, and in the end it was unleashed against us through Ukraine, but the priority for us is the lives of the soldiers and civilians who remained in the combat zone”. He noted that hundreds of US forces are now in Ukraine and the office of the US military attaché provides direct advisory services to Kiev.
Lavrov added: Russia does not have a special desire to hold a dialogue with Western countries.
