Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov discussed with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres via video the situation in Syria, Libya, the Balkans and other issues.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today that Lavrov briefed Guterres in detail on Russia’s ongoing negotiations with member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on security guarantees. A comprehensive exchange of views took place on a number of current international issues such as the situation in Syria and Libya and the activities of the United Nations Mission in Kosovo.
Lavrov also referred to the problems facing the Russian permanent mission to the United Nations in the United States due to the failure of the American side to fulfill its obligations under the Convention on Central Institutions of the World Organization.
