Russian Foreign Minister Seregy Lavrov and the UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen held a meeting on Tuesday in Moscow to discuss mobilizing international assistance to overcome the repercussions of the earthquake in Syria, according to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Sputnik quoted the Ministry as saying in a statement: ” The two sides exchanged views on the current situation in and around Syria.
The ministry pointed out that urgent humanitarian task, represented in mobilizing international assistance, was addressed during the meeting, including overcoming the consequences of the earthquake and providing comprehensive support to all the needy and the quake-affected people without politicization or preconditions.
