Lavrov: Israeli Attack On Lebanon Via Communications Devices Is A Terrorist Method To Achieve Political Goals

New York – (ST)-  Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed that the recent Israeli attack on Lebanon by converting civilian technologies into lethal weapons is a blatant example of terrorist methods to achieve political goals.

Lavrov said in a speech before the UN General Assembly that the United States had prior knowledge of the recent Israeli attacks on Lebanon, particularly the bombing of wireless communications equipment, describing those attacks as inhumane.

Lavrov called for an immediate investigation into the crime and not to ignore the media reports about Washington’s complicity in one way or another in preparing for this terrorist attack.

The Russian Foreign Minister stressed the need for an immediate halt to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, and to stop killing Palestinians with American weapons.

“Israel” is practicing collective punishment against the Palestinians by using American weapons, and the killing of Palestinian civilians with American weapons must stop immediately, as it is an unprecedented form of humanitarian disaster, Lavrov said

The Russian Foreign Minister stressed that it is necessary to ensure the delivery of aid to the Gaza Strip and the reconstruction of its infrastructure, and before that to ensure the realization of the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to self-determination.

Regarding the Ukrainian crisis, Lavrov explained that Russia does not isolate itself from dialogue with the West, and has put forward the idea of creating an equal and indivisible security structure in Eurasia, calling on countries sponsoring peace initiatives in Ukraine to take into account the need to eliminate the root causes of the conflict.
