Lavrov: Geneva Statement Approved by all International Parties

“The Geneva statement  won the approval of all the players and international parties. We do regret  that this statement  was not documented at  the UN Security Council”, said the Russian Foreign Minister  Sergey Lavrov on Monday in a joint conference with the  UN Envoy to Syria Lakhder al-Brahimi .
“We must convince all parties in Syria  to abide by  cease-fire and move to the political dialogue “, the Russian foreign minister  said , adding that  al-Brahimi is making efforts to reach an all-out solution to the Syrian crisis.
For his part, al-Brahimi, noted :” Syria is a very  important country and the  Syrian people deserve our support and backing . We  will continue efforts with all parties inside and outside Syria for reducing violence , terminating it and then join a dialogue for building a new Syria”.
