Lavrov describes the Russian delegation’s visit to Syria last January as “positive”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov described the Russian delegation’s visit to Syria, which took place at the end of last January, as “positive”.

He said that the recent conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa has had very positive results.

He added in a speech before the state Duma: “We have planned to hold other high-level contacts with our Syrian colleagues next week.

Lavrov went on to say: The Syrian authorities publicly confirm the need to respect the historical strategic nature of our relations.

He also indicated that the Syrian authorities are focusing on preventing a recurrence of the Libyan scenario in Syria, according to RT.
