Moscow (ST): Russian Foreign Minister Sergy Lavrov re-affirmed that all the agreements and understandings regarding the de-escalation zone in Idleb do not include the terrorist organizations, noting that the operations of combatting terrorism being carried out in the governorate are completely legal.
In a joint press conference he held following his talks with his Mexican counterpart in Mexico city, Lavrov said that everything being done to fight terrorists is carried out legally, adding that any de-escalation agreement in Idleb does not include the terrorists, because they are outlaws.
He stressed that the Turkish regime did not commit to its pledges according to the Sochi understanding regarding the de-escalation zone in Idleb, pointing out that the terrorists are still spread in the city and the Turks have to commit to their pledges.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry stressed that combating terrorism in Syria is a sovereign right of the Syrian state whose duty is to eliminate its danger. The Ministry confirmed that the Syrian army is fighting on its own sovereign land against terrorists who are on the UN Security Council’s list of terrorist entities.
