Russia is open to cooperation with the United States and will be ready to consider any issue but insists on the removal of the contradictions existing between the two countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has said.
“Russia is always open to cooperation with the United States understanding that cooperation should be equal and based on the mutual recognition of interests and nonintervention in internal affairs,” he said at a Monday press conference in Moscow.
“Given the observance of these norms of civilized behavior that are recorded in international law, we will be ready to consider any issue,” he said. “But the removal of the problems that have been multiplying in our relations lately is indisputably our number one task,” Lavrov said,according to Voice of Russia, Interfax.
