Lavrov: American occupation troops in Syria continue plundering Syrian resources

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stressed that the US occupation forces continue to widely loot the Syrian resources and use the looted resources in supporting separatist militias in Syria.

Sputnik quoted Lavrov as saying in an address to the Primakov Readings Forum on Wednesday: “Each time we affirm the illegality of the US presence in Syria, particularly as this presence is accompanied by acts of plundering Syrian oil and agricultural crops to support separatist parties in the Eastern bank of the Euphrates River.” He pointed out that the Americans are playing a very dangerous game which may end in a bad way.

Lavrov also stressed that Russia will continue to actively contribute to solving international conflicts, noting in this regard his country’s efforts to resolve the conflict between the Palestinians and the Israelis, as well as in the Nagorno-Karabakh region between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the conflict in Afghanistan, Libya and many other hot spots.

The Russian top diplomat asserted that sanctions and warnings are useless while having dialogue with Russia, pointing out that Moscow’s willingness to have dialogue with western partners should not be understood as weakness.

He made it clear that the West is refusing to have an honest dialogue regarding a moratorium on the deployment of medium and short-range missiles in Europe.

He expressed hope that the US would learn from past mistakes when preparing for the upcoming Russia-US summit scheduled on June 16th in Geneva.
