Launching “You Are Life” march in Homs to support cancer campaign 

In support of the national campaign to investigate cancer in Homs, the march of the branch of the Syrian Cancer Society (You Are Life 2) was launched, with the participation of civil and humanitarian parties and organizations.

Head of the Syrian Society for Cancer Control in Homs, Dr. Zahi Al-Shawaf, said in a statement to SANA  that the society’s support for the national campaign aims to educate people about the campaign, and encourage them to investigate cancer.

For his part, Dr. Musallam al-Atassi, Head of Homs Health Directorate, noted the directorate’s participation in the march, which was organized by the branch of the Syrian Society for Cancer Control in Homs, with the aim of raising awareness for the people of Homs Governorate and calling them to investigate the disease, by reviewing centers, hospitals and mobile vehicles to ensure their safety and reassure their health.

Afaf Al-Hassan, head of the Businesswomen’s Committee in Homs Chamber of Commerce, underlined the importance of businesswomen’s participation in the national campaign to investigate cancer and participate in the march. She pointed out that the committee will also carry out an awareness lecture next week to encourage women to investigate cancer.

Dr. Hanin Suwaid, a graduate of dentistry from Al Dandashi Educational Foundation, noted the participation of the Foundation’s youth in the march by distributing awareness brochures, pointing to the Foundation’s support for the Syrian Cancer Society branch in a number of its awareness activities.

In turn, a number of young volunteers in the branch of the Syrian Society for Cancer Control and Al-Dandashi Educational Foundation considered that participation in the campaign has great humanitarian and patriotic implications, by strengthening the role of young people in society and spreading awareness.
