On November 15th, the National Union of Syrian Students, in cooperation with the Syrian General Insurance Corporation and a brokerage company for insurance services, launched the electronic platform for health insurance service for students in Syrian public and private universities and higher and technical institutes.
The platform provides its services through four insurance programs:
The platform allows immediate registration on health insurance and aims, according to the explanations of those in charge of it, to provide health care, secure its costs, reduce the financial burden on students by providing appropriate insurance prices for them, and exempt students participating from taxes on the insurance contract.
In a statement to reporters, Darin Suleiman, Chairperson of the National Union of Syrian Students stated that the union launched the platform in cooperation with partners from the private sector such as banks.
In turn, Director of Wasata Insurance Services Company Nour Ahmed Qouqo explained that health insurance is a student demand in light of the high costs of medical services.
