Launching Reconstruction in Syria Necessary to Restore Normal Life in the Country

MOSCOW, (ST)- Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Geneva Genady Gatilov has stressed the urgent need for launching reconstruction in Syria as to restore normal life in the country.

In an interview with “al-Mayadeen TV” last night, Gatilov expressed hope that all concerned parties will support the Russian initiative on helping displaced Syrians return home from neighboring countries and creating suitable and safe conditions to facilitate this process.

 The Russian diplomat called for resuming the political process to solve the crisis in Syria as soon as possible particularly in the light of the country’s current situation which is witnessing more stability thanks to the victories of the Syrian Arab army over terrorist groups in different areas.

He reaffirmed his country’s support for the sovereignty, safety and territorial integrity of Syria, reiterating that the war on terrorism will continue until it is completely eliminated.
