With the participation of more than 70 local, Arab and foreign companies specializing in the oil industries, exploration operations, studies and consultations, the activities of the second session of the Syrian International Petroleum and Gas Exhibition(Syrpetro) were launched on Wednesday on Damascus Fairgrounds.
The exhibition, which continues until the 10th of this month, aims to help investors determine the future requirements of petroleum projects in Syria, the country’s plans for the short and long term, strategic priorities and fundamental plans for the oil and mineral wealth sector.
In a statement to reporters after his tour of the exhibition, Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources Eng. Bassam Toameh confirmed that the exhibition includes companies that provide all kinds of services in the oil sector and presents new technologies and ideas.These companies are ready to enter the Syrian market.
Director General of the exhibition-organizer Mashhadani International Group Khalaf Mashhadani underlined the importance of the exhibition in discussing the possibility of cooperation with oil companies in friendly countries, as well as the possibility of cooperation and contracting between the private and public sectors for the reconstruction of the Syrian oil sector, which was destroyed by the attacks of terrorist organizations.
From Iraq, Alaa Al-Shamri, head of Al-Amarah Chamber of Commerce, praised the determination of the Syrian companies, noting the strengthening of relations and the development of the process of trade exchange between the two countries.
From Iran, Majid Rostami, advisor to Tadbeer Holding Company, confirmed his readiness to participate in the work of oil exploration and the reconstruction of oil wells destroyed in Syria by terrorism, cooperation in the field of gas, implementing joint projects with the Syrian side, and assistance in the field of export and trade exchange.
