With the participation of 93 specialized national companies, the activities of the International Cosmetic Industries Exhibition 2024, organized by Armada International Exhibitions and Conferences in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, the Pharmacists Syndicate in Syria, and Damascus Chamber of Commerce, were launched on Wednesday at the New Exhibition City in Damascus.

After a tour of the exhibition pavilions, Dr. Khaldoun Harba, Director General of the General Corporation for Chemical Industries, stressed the importance of the exhibition as it sheds light on cosmetic industries and the extent of development that these industries have reached in Syria and their ability to compete strongly. He referred to the participation of the Technical Institute for Chemical Industries in Damascus with products manufactured by its students and graduates and the role played by the private sector in this field.

Head of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Wafaa Kishi, noted the distinction of this year’s exhibition through the increase in the number of pavilions and the number of participating companies, the diversity of products and their multiple uses, in addition to manufacturing these products according to studied formulas and standards, which is a good step in this field.

Director of the General Establishment for Exhibitions, Halim Al-Akhras, pointed out that this exhibition comes within the work plan of the establishment to support and encourage specialized exhibitions, especially for their positive and direct results in opening new markets for producers internally and externally and highlighting the development of the Syrian product.

Secretary of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry, Ayman Mawlawi, expressed his hope that this industry will achieve great added value for the Syrian economy and that Syria will become one of the first countries exporting cosmetics, as they are very popular and witness increasing demand inside and outside Syria.

Treasurer of Damascus and Damascus Countryside Chamber of Industry, George Daoud, highlighted the great development witnessed by the exhibition year after year in terms of the diversity of products and the increase in the number of participating companies, noting the participation of micro-projects that are interested in natural cosmetics extracted from aromatic medicinal plants that Syria is famous for.

General Manager of Armada Foundation, the organizer of the exhibition, Ahmed Al-Madi, underlined the importance of the exhibition for companies as it represents an opportunity for them to market their products and promote new ones and to meet businessmen, industrialists, exporters, traders and consumers. The exhibition will provide a kind of transparency in communicating with all parties through which the product passes until it reaches the consumer, in addition to concluding deals, networking and commercial and industrial cooperation, which contributes to exchanging experiences, expanding the scope of business, enhancing investments and increasing production and marketing capacities.

Director of the Technical Institute for Chemical Industries in Damascus, Engineer Khaled Al-Shaldi, said that this is the first participation of the institute in the cosmetic industries exhibition, indicating that they seek through their participation to display the handicrafts of students and graduates that were manufactured in the institute’s laboratories under the supervision of a specialized teaching and technical staff, which today exceeded 40 different products. He noted that work is underway to improve and increase production in the institute until the students’ products are displayed in local markets.

The exhibition includes products of the most important cosmetic industries. The first cosmetic pharmaceutical conference is being held to focus on several axes, including artificial intelligence in cosmetics, plants used in these preparations, and how Syrian cosmetic companies can transform into global companies.
