Larijani: We Support the Lebanese People in all circumstances and Backup Any Decision They Take

Iran’s Senior Adviser to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ali Larijani reaffirmed his country’s support for the Lebanese people in all circumstances and for any decision taken by Lebanon and its resistance.

“We want to resolve matters and support Lebanon in all circumstances, but the one who wants war and blows up the situation is the Israeli occupation,” Larijani said after meeting with Lebanese parliament speaker Nabih Berri in Beirut today, pointing out that Hezbollah is a strong and rational movement and knows how to act.

Larijani pointed out that President Berri provided good details during the meeting, stressing that the main goal of his visit is to express his country’s stand by Lebanon’s government, army and resistance against the aggression of the criminal entity and in all circumstances.

Larijani also met with the head of the caretaker government, Najib Mikati, and said: “Iran supports any decision taken by the government, especially Resolution 1701, and also supports the election of any president that the Lebanese agree on.

For his part, Mikati said:” What is required is to support the position of the Lebanese state regarding the implementation of international Resolution No. 1701 and support national unity”. He stated that the Lebanese government gives priority to stopping the Israeli aggression on Lebanon and reaching a ceasefire and implementing Resolution 1701 in full without any modifications or interpretations contrary to the content and intent of the resolution”.
