Larijani reiterates the need to adopt a political solution to the Syrian crisis

On October 14, Iran’s Speaker of the Islamic Shura Council (Parliament) Ali Larijani reiterated the need to adopt a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

“Since the beginning of the crisis in Syria and the war in Yemen, Iran has proposed political dialogue, but some countries have insisted on war,” Larijani said, during a meeting with Algerian Parliament Speaker Suleiman Shanin in Belgrade on the sidelines of the 141st Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.

On the nuclear deal with Iran, Larijani said that US President Donald Trump has breached the nuclear agreement and abandoned it.

The Algerian Speaker of Parliament expressed his country’s support for the sovereignty, stability and territorial integrity of Syria and Yemen.

He stressed the rejection of military intervention in other countries and the need to adopt political solutions and achieve security and stability in the region.
