Landmine explosion kills a child, injures two others northwest of Hasakah

A child was martyred and two others were injured as a result of a landmine explosion in the vicinity of Tal Tamer town, to the northwest of Hasakah.

The landmine, which was planted in this area by militants affiliated to the US-backed Syrian-Democratic Forces (SDF) militia in a bid to fortify their positions, killed a 6-year old child and injured his 9-year-old brother and his 7-year-old cousin, according to local sources.

A medical source told a SANA reporter that the two injured children were taken to the hospital and now they are in the intensive care room since they suffer from serious injuries by shrapnel in different parts of their bodies.

On June 14, two children were martyred and three girls were injured in a landmine explosion in Al-Malekiyyeh city in Hasakah countryside.

The US-backed SDF militia has planted hundreds of landmines in different areas in the vicinity of their headquarters in order to fortify their positions in the light of the escalation of anti-SDF militia attacks in different parts of the Syrian Al-Jazira region.
