“Lamat Farah” Group in Lattakia .. Sheds light on the tourist and archaeological sites in Syria

“Lamat Farah”  group in Lattakia, which includes both young  males and females of different educational levels, seeks to highlight Syria’s amazing  tourist and archaeological sites .

“Since my childhood I have had  a passion for organizing trips with friends  so I  established a group called “Lamat  Farah” in 2018, with the participation of about 30 members” Lina Maqsoud, the group’s founder, expressed  in a statement to Syriatimes e-newspaper.  

She stressed that the group aims at reactivating the tourism movement through  highlighting  and promotion of tourist and archaeological sites and presenting the real and wonderful image of Syria and its people.

Maqsoud indicated that the group has carried out many activities which documented  the beauty of nature in Syria, including recreational and exploratory trips to a number of sites in the countryside of Jableh and Lattakia, such as  the village of Harf al-Masitra, , Ra’es al-Bassit, Mashqita, Kasab and Samra.

The group also toured  many coastal villages which occupy  an important place in the memory of many Syrians, in addition to visiting distinguished places, including , as  Krak des Chevaliers  Castle , “ Al-Kastana’a”  forest in Homs, in addition to the National Museum, the Hamidiya market and Maaloula in Damascus, where they documented the beauty and richness of Syrian nature.

Maysa Saleh, an Arabic language teacher, pointed out that this group is distinguished by love, friendliness and harmony, pointing to her  recent participation in a camping trip in the Ra’es al-Basit area, which is one of the most beautiful beaches of the Mediterranean, where the sea harmonizes with green mountains and natural forests. In  turn, Raja Abbas, a professor at  the Department of History in  Tishreen University, indicated that the main objective of her participation in the trips is to learn about the natural and archaeological sites in Syria, such as “Safita” Tower, which is one of the most important archaeological monuments in Tartous Governorate, as well as  Krak des Chevaliers  Castle, which is characterized by a geographical and historical location.

Other participants  expressed the importance of these trips in reviving some social customs that enhance intimacy among Syrians.
