Laboratory tests confirm the invalidity of the wheat seed distributed by the American occupation in the Hasakah countryside

Hasakah , (ST) – Laboratory tests at the Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform proved that the Turkish-origin wheat seed, which was provided by the US occupation forces through the so-called “USAID Agency” to farmers in several areas in the Qamishli countryside, is invalid.

In a statement to SANA, the Director of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Hasakah, Eng. Saeed Jaji, said that, the directorate “sent a sample of wheat seeds provided by the American occupation to the laboratories of the Ministry of Agriculture, and it was found that they are not suitable for cultivation due to the high rate of nematodes, which reached 40 percent. This matter constitutes a great danger to agriculture.” in the region, especially as its effects cause great harm, which will worsen over time.”

Jaji warned peasants and farmers in the countryside of Qamishli and the region against dealing with these seeds of Turkish origin. He called to destroy them and not to plant them because their damage will continue for years and cause an epidemic of agricultural lands.

The Hasakah Farmers Union had warned the people and farmers against the seeds of unknown origin. It called on not dealing with these seeds and not planting them, as they are not suitable for cultivation and will be a cause of agricultural pests that in time will make the land unsuitable for farming.
