Kuwait fully supports efforts to protect human rights and achieve stability in Syria

Kuwait affirmed its firm position in condemning the attacks perpetrated by outlaw groups in Syria, targeting state security forces, which undermine efforts to achieve stability.

The Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported that Counselor Abdullah Al-Khubaizi, Deputy Permanent Representative of the State of Kuwait to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, said in a statement that Kuwait fully supports efforts to promote and protect human rights in Syria.

He appreciated the positive steps taken by the Syrian authorities towards strengthening internal consensus, particularly the convening of the National Dialogue Conference.

Al-Khubaizi welcomed the agreement to integrate all civilian and military institutions in northeastern Syria into the state administration as a step towards consolidating the country’s unity.

He stressed the need to respect Syria’s unity, security, independence and territorial integrity.

He also expressed Kuwait’s condemnation of the repeated attacks by the Israeli occupation forces on Syrian territory, considering them a violation of international law and the UN Charter and a threat to regional security.

Al-Khubaizi reaffirmed Kuwait’s call for lifting sanctions imposed on Syria, given their negative impact on the Syrian people and their basic rights.

He emphasized the need to provide humanitarian assistance to the Syrian people and support early recovery efforts.

He expressed Kuwait’s hope that the Syrian people will be able to realize their aspirations and hopes for a stable future characterized by security and justice.
