Kremlin: Terrorist attacks on Syrian army and Russian forces launched by terrorists in areas where Turkish troops are deployed
MOSCOW, (ST)- The continuous terrorist attacks which have been targeting the Syrian army and the Russian forces have been launched by terrorist organizations positioned in areas where the Turkish occupation troops are deployed, the Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists on Thursday.
Peskov voiced Moscow’s concern over such terrorist attacks by the terrorist organizations in Idleb against the Syrian army and the Russian military facilities in Syria.
Peskov pointed out that there are no plans for a meeting between the Russian President Vladimir Putin and President of the Turkish regime Recep Tayyib Erdognan.

In the same context, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday that fighting terrorism in Syria is a sovereign right of the Syrian state whose duty is to eliminate the danger this terrorism.
The statement said that the situation in the de-escalation zone in Idleb “has recently witnessed dangerous extreme tension. The terrorists launched more than 1000 attacks in the last two weeks of January that claimed the lives of hundreds of civilians and military personnel.”
The statement reiterated that all these developments point to an unacceptable increase in terrorist strength in Idlib, where the terrorists have complete impunity and a free hand. It affirmed that the Syrian Arab army had to react to these developments in order to protect thousands of Syrians from terrorist attacks.
The statement affirmed that the Syrian army is fighting on its own soil against those designated as terrorists by the UN Security Council.
