Kosachev: Washington punishes fighters of terrorism in Syria

Moscow (ST): Head of the International Affairs Committee at the Russian Federation Council Konstantin Kosachev affirmed that the US familiar approach is based on punishing those who fight terrorism in Syria and benefitting from this issue to keep its occupation forces on the Syrian territories.

Interviewed by the Sputnik news agency, Kosachev said that Washington does not care about the humanitarian situation in Syria and only thinks in its interests.

He added that the US has been working to accuse Russia of aggravating the situation in Idleb in an attempt to keep its occupation forces in Syria and the region.

The developments on the ground have shown that the US forces, stationed in Syria under the pretext of fighting Daesh, have been supporting terrorist organizations with the aim of undermining the sovereignty and unity of Syria and prolonging the crisis in it.
