Kosacheov: The election process in Syria has not witnessed any violation

Moscow (ST): Deputy Chairman of the Russian Federation Council Konstantin Kosacheov affirmed today that the members of the Russian delegation that accompanied the voting process  of the presidential elections in Syria did not notice any violation or infraction during the electoral process, referring to the high turnout of Syrians at the polling stations to cast their votes.

Kosacheov told Sputnik  that the facts indicate that the turnout of citizens to participate in the elections was very high  and the Federation Council members who were present immediately as observers reported that the situation was completely calm and the rules of the election campaigns and other pre-election events were not violated.

Kosacheov pointed out that the extension of the election period came as a result of the continued influx of voters in a large number to polling stations, with the aim of giving the opportunity to all people who wish to cast their votes, stressing at the same time that Moscow attaches great importance to move forward the political process led by the Syrians themselves without outside interference.

In turn, a member of the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council, Sergey Teskov, said that the West does not see the flagrant violations within its countries, as happened during the election campaign in the United States, but at the same time Western politicians criticize other countries that live according to their own internal laws and which they are trying to impose their will on them.
