Mikdad: Syrian-Russian strategic ties are that of common destiny
In a statement to reporters, Deputy foreign Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Faisal al-Mikdad asserted that the Syrian-Russian strategic ties are that of common destiny, pointing out that the Russian Federation’s support for Syria in the fight against terrorism doesn’t only mark the development of ties between the two countries, but it marks notable development in international relations as well.
“Every day, the real image of the declared war on Syria becomes clearer; It is a war waged not only by terrorist organizations like Daesh and Jabhat al-Nusra and other affiliated terror groups, but also by countries that have conspired on Syria and supported terrorism , including some Gulf states,” al-Mikdad said, noting the facts that have been uncovered about these countries’ support for terrorists in Syria and the region.
Al-Mikdad went on to say that the Syrian-Russian alliance with resistance forces in the region, mainly Iran and Hizbollah is advancing on ground. He clarified that the victory achieved by the Syrian Arab army, represented by reaching the Syrian-Iraqi borders, was a strategic development in the war on terrorism and a clear evidence that we are able to achieve the final victory on terrorism.”
