King Abdullah II affirms rejection of everything that threatens Syria’s security and stability

Jordanian King Abdullah II affirmed his country’s rejection of everything that threatens Syria’s security and stability.

The Jordanian News Agency Petra reported that King Abdullah II called during a series of meetings in the US Congress in Washington on Wednesday to exert all efforts to ensure the success of the ceasefire in Lebanon, stressing at the same time Jordan’s rejection of everything that threatens Syria’s security and stability.

The Jordanian King also called for strengthening the international humanitarian response in the Gaza Strip, to limit the aggravation of the humanitarian catastrophe experienced by the people of the Strip, and  he stressed the need to move immediately to pressure the Israeli entity to ensure the entry of relief and medical aid in a sufficient and sustainable manner.

He reiterated the need to reach an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and push towards finding a political horizon to achieve a just and comprehensive peace based on a solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state and the Palestinian people obtaining their legitimate rights. He also expressed his rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, noting that the violence practiced by settlers against Palestinians, and the violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, must stop immediately.
